And to start the 2011 blog off, here’s my last wedding of 2010. The day that Marianna and Phil tied the knot at One Whitehall in the heart of London.

Marianna’s preparations took place at the adjacent Royal Horseguards Hotel, so didn’t have to worry about travelling through London’s Christmas shopping traffic.

During the preparations, groom Phil had asked the Chief Bridesmaid to present his bride with a little gift. The kind that comes in a little turquoise box

In the meantime, Phil was at One Whitehall next door, chatting to parents and soon to be parents-in-law.

And then it was time for the ceremony:

After the ceremony we explored the venue and the surrounding area for our wedding portraits.

After that we worked our way through a short list of formal groups before heading in for the wedding breakfast, which commenced with the speeches.

After the meal it was time for mingling and cutting of the cake, before The Rat Pack sound of Classic Sinatra led us into the first dance.

Many congratulations to Marianna and Phil and I hope they had a lovely honeymoon in snowy New York!

Whilst Rachael was having her hair done in preparation for her wedding,

the little bridesmaids were practicing their “aisle walking” under granny’s careful supervision.

Seeing their auntie all dressed up made this little ones’ eyes light up.

Rachael really reminded me of Jackie Onassis with her hair, diamond hair band and three quarter length jacket.

She looked stunning.

Her father looked on as the bridesmaids were getting ready to leave for the ceremony at the Holland Park Orangery by London Taxi.

Groom James was receiving his final instructions from the registrar when I arrived at The Orangery

and then spent his final unmarried moments chatting with his best man.

After an emotional service,

we headed outside to take advantage of the beautiful Holland Park setting and the beautiful colours created by the quickly setting sun,

before heading next door for the Wedding breakfast at the Belvedere, a Marco Pierre White restaurant.

The cake didn’t quite make it in time for cutting during the reception and just in case, Event Manager Sally quickly rustled up a couple of very pretty Marks and Spencers Christmas cakes,

but thankfully, the real thing arrived in time for the meal.

During the speeches, not everyone was paying as much attention as they should’ve done though.

Then it was onto the dancefloor for the couple’s First Dance and time for me to head home.

The preparations took place at the couple’s home and I absolutely fell in love with Georgina’s Joseph Azagury shoes!

It has a happy coincidence too, that I came across Kamanza Amihhyia, Georgina’s makeup artist, whom I had already worked with earlier in the year on Jamila and Dean’s wedding. Her makeup is absolutely lovely and so very natural.

Of course you can’t really go wrong when you have a subject with such flawless skin as Georgina.

Groom Ben was eagerly awaiting Georgina’s arrival at The Christ Church in Kensington,

and proud father Jim was ready to walk his daughter down the aisle.

Once the formalities were completed,

We headed out of the church

and jumped in a London Taxi

to head over to RIBA, the Royal Institute of British Architects,

where we hid away from the crowd to get a couple of shots of Georgina and Ben snuggling up.

Then onto the reception where one of Ben’s Ushers entertained us all evening with his painist skills.

RIBA had created the most amazingly stylish looking room through the use of funky uplighting

Once the meal was over, Georgina and Ben started the first dance of their married life together,

after which their guests danced the night away to band Innovation.

The two went off on honeymoon to Argentina, a place I have ALWAYS wanted to visit, so I wish them both a great honeymoon and hope to hear all about it on their return.
